Privatisation v Nationalisation: CWU general secretary Billy Hayes and Conservative David Sudworth put their cases

This month's Sefton Democracy Club has some very special guest speakers with Communications Workers Union general secretary Billy Hayes going head to head with Conservative David Sudworth to debate Privatisation v Nationalisation.

The premise for the debate will centre around the following arguments:

“Nationalisation leads to inefficiency and greater cost to the tax-payer. While privatisation ensures services are competitive and quality-driven.”

and

“Privatisation puts power in the hands of the rich with profits put before people. While nationalisation ensures market forces do not compromise on service.”
